Taken at the Ottery, June 2016. Regular visitors - we've had up to nine out the back of the house at the same time.

Boxing Day in suburbia ... Two days earlier I'd seen a lone turkey up tight against a neighbour's house keeping warm in the afternoon sun. Then on Boxing Day I watched as a flock of 6 worked their way along the hedge line and ended up perched in the trees that adjoined our garden; a sight made all the more fun because at that moment we were preparing our own Christmas turkey supper! For years after I came to Canada I never saw a turkey, but slowly they have become ever more common in the woods and fields and finally they have made their way to our own backyard in suburban Pointe-Claire.
